Draft Genome Sequence of Salmacisia buchloëana (Basidiomycota), Which Induces Hermaphroditism in Dioecious Buffalograss
Here, we report the draft genome of Salmacisia buchloëana type strain OK1, a monotypic species of fungi that induces ovary development in genetic male plants and increases reproductive biomass allocation in its host buffalograss. This research will enhance our understanding of fungal manipulation of host development at the genomic level.
متن کاملPistil Smut Infection Increases Ovary Production, Seed Yield Components, and Pseudosexual Reproductive Allocation in Buffalograss
Sex expression of dioecious buffalograss [Bouteloua dactyloides Columbus (syn. Buchloë dactyloides (Nutt.) Engelm.)] is known to be environmentally stable with approximate 1:1, male to female, sex ratios. Here we show that infection by the pistil smut fungus [Salmacisia buchloëana Huff & Chandra (syn. Tilletia buchloëana Kellerman and Swingle)] shifts sex ratios of buffalograss to be nearly...
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Vibrio parahaemolyticus Strain M0605, Which Causes Severe Mortalities of Shrimps in Mexico
Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND), also known as early mortality syndrome (EMS), causes high mortalities in cultured shrimps in Asia (L. Tran et al., Dis. Aquat. Organ. 105:45-55, 2013, http://dx.doi.org/10.3354/dao02621). Here, we report the draft genome sequence of one Mexican strain of Vibrio parahaemolyticus that causes similar clinical signs in diseased shrimps.

We present the 2.05-Mb draft genome sequence ofLactobacillus crispatusJCM5810, a chicken intestinal isolate with the ability to reduceCampylobacter jejunicolonization in chickens. The genome sequence will provide insights on the probiotic mechanisms ofL. crispatusJCM5810.
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Rhodococcus sp. Strain M8, Which Can Degrade a Broad Range of Nitriles
Rhodococcus sp. strain M8 is a nitrile-degrading bacterium isolated from acrylonitrile-contaminated sites. This strain produces the enzymes for sequential nitrile degradation, cobalt-type nitrile hydratase, and amidase in large amounts. Its draft genome sequence, announced here, has an estimated size of 6.3 Mbp.
